Today we visited Arches National park. I thought the landscape was absolutely stunning! …but I have to say, I think I liked Bryce Canyon better, the hikes, the trees and contrast, I don’t know… it just felt more… me. So anyway, I was annoyed to see people climbing up and all over the arches, flying drones and scratching graffiti into rocks and leaving garbage and food scraps – all of which are prohibited and for very good reasons. Leave no trace principles be damned! So listen up, whomever needs to hear this. As we spend time outdoors, in the natural world, it’s SO important to be conscious of the effects our actions may have on plants, animals, other people, and even entire ecosystems.…. Or quite frankly, we are all doomed. End rant. Thank you and good night.

We hiked the Windows Loop, Turret Arch and Double Arch Trail, by which time the kids were feeling pooped and we took a scenic drive around some more of the park before heading home.
